Overview
The Luster Class handles the Gunblade as their only type of weapon.
The Gunblade is an existing weapon that can be equipped normally by all classes, but when equipped as a Luster, the moveset have a completely different behavior in terms of Normal Attacks, Weapon Actions, Dodge Actions, and Photon Arts.
Lusters cannot use any of the existing PAs for this weapon type (even for weapons that have a built-in PA cannot be used).
Luster PAs can only be used by Luster as a Main Class. They cannot be used even when equipped with those types as Luster Subclass.
Unlike other Scion Classes, the weapon has access to three different "Styles" that gives additional benefits to certain types of actions.
- For almost all actions, including Luster jumps, pressing and holding the action button consumes Focus and activates follow-up actions.
- For PAs, they are further divided into Mobile Arts and Stationary Arts (Skill acquisition required) depending of whether movement is inputted or not.
- Luster branches into three Styles depending on the Element of the equipped Gunblade. Each style has different behaviors and benefits.
Fomel Style | Luster Volts increases by +1 for Enhanced Arts of both Stationary and Mobile per hit. |
---|---|
Zandi Style | Increased attack speed (Approximately 1.15x), increased PA movement performance, and +1 Volts to Mobile Arts. |
Baran Style | Greatly increased range, inclusion of Guard Points, and +1 Volts to Stationary Arts |
- Furthermore, Luster can shift into an Advanced State by meeting certain conditions. In an Advanced State, different benefits are obtained for each style.
Fomel Style | Activated when a PA is used continuously, if Perfect Attack is performed successfully at the earliest timing. → For 10 seconds, a bit will be expanded to damage nearby enemies and the user gains Super Armor. |
---|---|
Zandi Style | Activated when successfully evading through Sidestep or Weapon Action. → For 40 seconds, the user gains follow-up hits on PA hit. |
Baran Style | Activated when successfully Perfect Guarding at the guard points of a PA, Normal Attack, or Sidestep Guard. → For 20 seconds, increases Normal Attack power and reduces damage taken. |
- Luster Terminology
- Advanced State
A special effect where the user gets beneficial effects for a certain period of time when certain conditions are met in each style. - Extra Attack
Performing a Normal Attack three times in a row will turn the next Normal Attack into a special hit. - Enhanced Attack
An additional portion of the Normal Attack by pressing and holding the button (Special effect by consuming Focus). - Enhanced Arts
An additional portion of the PA by pressing and holding the button (Strengthened with Focus consumption). - Enhanced Combo
After Enhanced Arts, omit the first half of the next PA and perform only the Enhanced Arts portion (No PP consumption, consumes Focus). - Enhanced
A general Term for Enhanced Attack, Enhanced Arts, and Enhanced Shot. - Swift Shot
Performing a Weapon Action at a specific timing, such as after an Extra Attack, an attack similar to Enhanced Shot will be performed without charge (No Focus consumption). - Swift Slash
Performing a Normal Attack at a specific timing, such as after a PA, will launch a special attack (Changes depending on movement input). - Purge Style
Performing a Weapon Action twice in a row will deal damage to enemies and removes the Element style of your weapon for 10 seconds. Mainly alters Enhanced Shot. - Sidestep Slide
Perform a slide by pressing the dodge button twice. - Advanced Sidestep Slide
Sidestepping forward or backward while locked on will alter the behavior of the Sidestep Slide. - Sidestep Guard
Guarding an attack with a forward or backward Sidestep while locked on will perform a special counterattack (Regarded as a guard, not a dodge). - Falling Gunblade
Jumping without movement input during an attack will make the user slam down quickly (Press and hold to activate a -verse type Technique that consumes additional Focus). - Rising Gunblade
Jumping with movement input during an attack will make the user attack while elevating in altitude (Press and hold to activate a -verse type Technique that consumes additional Focus). - Volts
A number that is added depending on the number of hits of the attack; if it exceeds 100, the user gains additional effects such as Shifta and Deband, etc.
- Advanced State
Features of Luster Gunblade
Luster Gunblade is a weapon that scales off of RNG Pwr, deals Ranged Damage, and references to the Melee Part Modifier. (Any type of boost that will benefit Ranged Damage = Skills, Rings, etcs.)
Example: Reference to Ranged Potency for All Attack Bonus: Luster, Critical Strike: Ranged (R).
Since the weapon references to the Melee Part Modifier, headshots that are referenced to Ranged Part Modifier will not occur even if it looks like a shooting attack.
However, due to the Gunblade Augment Power Boost skill, the weapon's Augment will be referred to the higher stat value in MEL Pwr or RNG Pwr, so it doesn't matter whether the weapon is boosted in MEL or RNG.
Since the above skill is not applicable to units, only RNG Pwr is applied. Therefore, Augmenting RNG Pwr onto units is recommended.
As a general-purpose weapon that can be used outside of Luster, the Gunblade has three types of hits: "MEL Pwr and Melee dependent", "RNG Pwr and Ranged dependent", and "Mixed". This is a weapon type that is generally strong in Melee.
Luster Gunblade Focus
- In addition to attacking enemies, Focus accumulates up to 3 stocks over time.
- Almost all actions consume Focus by pressing and holding the button, and additional effects are activated according to the action.
- By pressing and holding the Normal Attack, it changes to an attack with special effects.
- By long-pressing PAs, you can follow-up with Enhanced Arts, giving enhanced power and changes behavior.
- By pressing and holding the Weapon Action, it changes to a high-powered Enhanced Shot.
- By pressing and holding the jump button in a specific situation, you can activate the support Techniques of Zanverse and Megiverse.
- Even if Focus is not accumulated, the performance change via long-press can be used. However, the performance drops due to Focus not being consumed.
- For PAs, even if the Focus Gauge is zero, an additional attack can still be activated, but the damage is reduced.
- For actions other than Weapon Actions, even if the Focus Gauge is zero, the follow-up action can still be activated, but the damage will be reduced and Techniques will not be activated.
Normal Attack
- Normal Attack
Each style delivers a 1-hit short-range slash in the first, second, and third stages.
Although it is limited to lock-on, the position can be adjusted slightly if you are inputting a move when in the air.
Fomel Style and Zandi Style are short-range slashes, but only Baran Style can emit long-range light waves, which also have a guard point.
If the Extra Attack skill is acquired at Lv60, the next Normal Attack can be replaced with a high-powered attack after performing 3 Normal Attacks in a row regardless of the stage, in other words, a 4th Normal Attack that deals more damage, can be performed.
The slashing part of the Extra Attack is a short range but omnidirectional attack, and recovers a large amount of Focus. Only Baran Style emits an X-shaped light wave at the same time.- Fomel Style: A short-range slash.
- Zandi Style: A short-range slash.
- Baran Style: A long-range light wave at the same time when slashing. In the Advanced State, the power of the emitted light wave is multiplied by 1.05x. The slash is also powerful, but less powerful than the light waves. However, the amount of Focus recovered is higher for slashing, and about the same as the other styles. There is also a guard point for a short time just before performing the action.
- Enhanced Attack
- Activated by consuming one Focus Gauge by pressing and holding the Normal Attack button.
Closes the distance to the locked-on target and make a one-shot cut-off.
It can be activated without a Focus Gauge, but the special effects described below will not be activated. - Only when the Focus Gauge is consumed, the special effect for each style will be activated.
Fomel Style: Stock 3 spears. Fired automatically when using a PA. When it hits an enemy, it grants Jellen (20s) and recovers PP.
Zandi Style: Creates a suctioning field and grants a stun effect in front. When the stun hits the enemy, Focus Gauge increases.
Baran Style: Creates a damaging field that can grant a binding effect in front.
- Activated by consuming one Focus Gauge by pressing and holding the Normal Attack button.
- Swift Slash (Skill acquisition required at Lv60)
Can be activated if a Normal Attack is performed at a specific timing when the pink light is displayed around the character. Various special attacks can be performed by combining with directional key input.
Dodge Action
The dodge action is a Sidestep. The motion is the same across all styles.
- Sidestep Strike
Deals a single-hit slash.
This is also the Normal Attack immediately after the Weapon Action.
Succeeding in evading with a Sidestep or Weapon Action, the power of the Sidestep Strike that is performed immediately after will increase.
Although it is an attack with the Normal Attack button, it does not emite a Baran-Style light wave.- If you use it from a Weapon Action, the power is a little low, as if it is supposed to hit the weapon's target.
The counter version is also slightly stronger than the normal Sidestep Strike when the weapon action's shooting is included.
Also, unlike the Sidestep version, if it is performed in the air, it will slash while staying in the air instead of falling.
- If you use it from a Weapon Action, the power is a little low, as if it is supposed to hit the weapon's target.
- Luster Sidestep Slide (Skill acquisition required)
Can be activated by performing a Sidestep during the Sidestep.
Closes the distance while firing 3 shots onto the locked-on enemy.
- Advanced Sidestep Slide (Skill acquisition required at Lv70)
While locking onto the enemy, a special attack can be performed by using Sidestep while moving back and forth during the Sidestep.- If performed while going forward, a ranged attack is performed by slashing through.
- If performed while going 'backward, a homing bullet is fired off that hits twice while moving backwards.
In addition, in the case of horizontal / no input, the original Sidestep Slide is performed.
There is invulnerability during Advanced Sidestep Slide, but this does not activate the Advanced State for Zandi Style.
- Luster Sidestep Guard (Skill acquisition required at Lv70)
While locking onto the enemy, successfully evading the attack via forward or backward Sidestep will perform an Enhanced Advanced Sidestep Slide.- Since this is regarded as a guard, it can activate the Advanced State for Baran Style.
- This will not activate the Advanced State for Zandi Style.
- This cannot guard against unguardable attacks.
- Activating Sidestep during the Perfect Attack window will add the Perfect Attack effect to the counterattack.
- Can accumulate Focus very quickly through this method.
- The action can be canceled by Weapon Action or Sidestepping even before the Perfect Attack window occurs. First Blood also applies.
- Note that making a Normal Attack after Sidestep Guard will just be a counter.
- Since this is regarded as a guard, it can activate the Advanced State for Baran Style.
Weapon Action
Weapon Actions can be used to activate Evasion Shot, Enhanced Shot, Swift Shot, and Purge Style.
The action to be activated changes according to the situation and the input method.
- Evasion Shot
Icon | ||
---|---|---|
Potency | 300 |
- Can be activated by short-pressing the Weapon Action.
- While moving briefly into the inputted direction, shoot 3 times in Gun mode. (100 x 3 hits)
- There is invulnerability when the button is pressed, and it can be used as an evasive action.
When learning Luster Counter, successful evasion will peform a counterattack via the Normal Attack button.
- Unlike other classes Weapon Actions, performing a Normal Attack immediately after the Weapon Action will cause a Sidestep Strike instead of a Normal Attack.
- Can be activated by short-pressing the Weapon Action.
- Enhanced Shot
- Can be activated by pressing and holding the Weapon Action.
Consumes 1-3 Focus Gauges and activates a special attack for each style.
By holding down the Weapon Action, the Focus Gauges are consumed one by one, and the performance gradually increases. When consuming 3 Gauges, the finish changes into a powerful one. - Cofy's description is "Enhanced Shot", and the skill descriptions are "Enhanced Attack". Note that both are the same.
- Fomel Style
Stays on the spot and thrusts continuously. The continuous thrust time is extended each time one Gauge is consumed.
When the Weapon Action is released or all of the Focus is consumed, a high-powered finishing attack is performed.
The power of the continuous thrust and finish increases with the consumption of the Focus Gauge. The finish has a guard point.
The amount of increased power of the third Gauge consumption is particularly large for both the continuous thrust and finish.
If the Focus Gauge increases during an attack, the attack time will be extended further, but will cap out the power increase at 3 Focus Gauges. - Zandi Style
Make a lightning strike on enemies and objects within the range. The Gauge usage increases according to the charge time, and the attack range and power are strengthened.
Although the damage dealt to each enemy is modest, the attack range when charging 3 Gauges is very beneficial, and even if the enemies are widely scattered, many can be involved.
Although it is possible to walk and jump while charging, it has no Super Armor. - Baran Style
Perform a long range singular shot. Power increases according to charge time.
Similar to the charged shot of Hero Sword's Weapon Action, and the visual size of the crystal changes depending on the charge stage. - Elementless / Purge Style
Fire off continuously in Gun mode while holding down the Weapon Action.
Focus Gauge gradually decreases during the rapid fire, and all 3 Gauges are consumed in less than 2 seconds. During this, PP is not consumed.
The power is always constant regardless of the consumption of the Focus Gauge.
Even if the Focus Gauge is empty, holding down the Weapon Action will expend PP afterwards.
Can automatically adjust the angle of the attack, but cannot move or change directions.
- Fomel Style
- Can be activated by pressing and holding the Weapon Action.
- Swift Shot (Skill acquisition required at Lv95)
Short-pressing the Weapon Action at a specific timing can activate a simplified version of Enhanced Shot.
In addition to being able to activate with Perfect Attack immediately after an extra attack, it is reminiscent of the characteristics of each style. Each have different timings.
There will be a visual flash of the style color from the hand holding the Gunblade. (Separate from the light of Swift Slash)- Fomel Style: A powerful rushing thrust.
- Occurs quickly and has a long reach, but does not vertically track.
- Has modest Focus accumulation.
- Activated by Weapon Action after activating Enhanced Combo.
- Zandi Style: Drops lightning strikes on targeted areas and surrounding enemies and objects.
- Easy to attack the targeted part, but has modest power. When not targeting, it attacks enemies and objects around it.
- Accumulates about 1.5 Focus Gauge for each enemy, including Perfect Attack modifiers.
- Activated by Weapon Action after successfully evading with Sidestep.
- Baran Style: Shoot at the locked-on area.
- Has high power, but can hit any obstructions in the line of sight.
- Accumulates about 1 Focus Gauge for each enemy, including Perfect Attack modifiers.
- Activated by Weapon Action at the Perfect Attack timing after a successful Sidestep Guard.
- Fomel Style: A powerful rushing thrust.
- Purge Style (Skill acquisition required at Lv95)
Activated by quickly performing the Weapon Action twice, discard the Element of the weapon, and switch to a non-element exclusive style.- When Purge Style is activated, it makes a high-powered attack around the user. When the attack hits, Focus Gauge recovers to maximum.
- Gunblade weapons are treated as Elementless for 10 seconds after Purge Style is activated.
- The following ways can recover the Element.
- Wait 10 seconds after discarding the Element.
- Activating Luster Time.
- Activating Luster Time Finish.
- The tradeoff of losing the effect of each style is a high-powered attack and gaining 3 Focus Gauge. Activating Luster Time / Finish immediately after Purge Style will quickly mitigate the tradeoff.
Jump Action
- Rising Gunblade
Activated by pressing the jump button while inputting a move after a Normal Attack, PA, Weapon Action, Advanced Sidestep Slide / Sidestep Guard. The user rises slightly while moving in the inputted direction. There is no limit on the number of times it can be used, so it can be used as many times until the the altitude limit is reached. When activated, there is a guard point. Consumes 10 PP.- Cannot be activated immediately after Sidestep Slide or Rising Gunblade.
- Holding the jump button will consume one Focus Gauge and activates a non-charged version of Zanverse or Megiverse.
- Mobile and Stationary actions exist for this as well. Mobile increases a certain distance, Stationary decreases a certain distance, and Stationary cannot be performed without learning Falling Gunblade.
- If HP is 75% or more, Zanverse will be activated, and if it is less than 75%, Megiverse will be activated.
- Before learning the Falling Gunblade skill, Rising Gunblade can be activated by pressing the jump button regardless of directional input.
- Falling Gunblade (Skill acquisition required)
Activated by pressing the jump button without inputting a move after a Normal Attack, PA, Weapon Action, Advanced Sidestep Slide / Sidestep Guard. Makes a falling attack direction below. Also stuns any enemy caught in the attack. Like Rising Gunblade, there is a guard point when activated. Can also be activated on the ground. If activated in the air, the user will fall to the ground at high speed. Consumes 10 PP.- As with Rising Gunblade, holding the jump button will consume one Focus Gauge and activates a non-charged version of Zanverse or Megiverse.
- As a side note, Volts also increases from the follow-up attacks made with Zanverse. Due to it not being a PA derivative, the count is only increased by +1 against bosses.
- As with Rising Gunblade, holding the jump button will consume one Focus Gauge and activates a non-charged version of Zanverse or Megiverse.
Photon Arts
There are two types of Luster Gunblade PAs, Mobile Arts and Stationary Arts.
If a PA is activated while movement is inputted, it becomes a Mobile Art, and if a PA is activated without movement, it becomes a Stationary Art.
Both Mobile and Stationary can follow-up to Enhanced Arts by pressing and holding the PA button.
Enhanced Arts increases the performance such as damage by consuming Focus.
Enhanced Arts also allows you to select Mobile / Stationary with or without a directional input when activated.
When learning the Enhanced Combo skill, Focus can be consumed to follow-up with Enhanced Arts again by inputting an additional PA button during Enhanced Arts.
This can be derived from other PAs.
