Overview

The Hunter's Sword is a relatively straightforward and safe weapon, but has somewhat short range.
Most of the Sword's PAs can be charged, can prevent flinching or a knock down (super armor) during a PA, and can be canceled most of the time with Guard, the Sword's Weapon Action, at any time before a PA ends.

With Hunter Arts Avenger and its related skills, PAs can deal 1.5x damage, restore 10 PP, and grant invincibility (that can be further extended) by releasing the PA right before an enemy attacks.
It is in a Sword Hunter's best interest to know the enemy's attack patterns and Avenger when they can, and use Guard to cancel if an enemy's attacks catches them by surprise.

Swords, unlike other Hunter weapons, can also Auto-Avenge after 1.5 seconds of reaching a charge state with a PA, and after 3 seconds, can Overcharge, doubling its damage, and can stack with Avenger bonuses.

Sword Photon Art. Rise in a vertical slashing, spiral ascent. Charging increases the potency.

• Performs 2 vertical slashes that can hit enemies above you and somewhat below you. Can be charged for 0.7 seconds to increase damage and amount of hits, causing a hitstop effect and "grinding" sound effect on initial hit.
  • 2 hits uncharged, 13 hits charged.
• Provides super armor, and can be canceled with Guard at almost any time.
  • If charged and hitting an enemy, you are vulnerable for a moment the "grinding" effect occurs.
• You will stay in the air for 2 seconds after using the PA.
• Power Notation: If uncharged, first slash deals 22%, second 28% of noted power. If charged, first slash deals 6% over 12 hits, and 28% for the second slash.

Twisting Zapper

Description
Sword Photon Art. Rise in a horizontal slashing, spiral ascent. Charging increases the number of spins.

• Performs a spinning attack with the sword multiple times, hitting enemies around you. Can also hit enemies somewhat below you if you are in the air. Can be charged for 0.7 seconds to increase damage, and the amount of hits and spins.
  • 4 hits uncharged, 5 hits charged.
• You can move to the left or right while spinning if you are not locked-on an enemy, otherwise you spin towards them.
• Provides super armor, and can be canceled with Guard before the final hit/spin connects.
• If used initially on the ground and off a ledge, you will begin to fall once the last spin is performed.
  • This is not the case when used in the air, and you will instead stay in the air for a moment after the last spin.
• Power Notation: If uncharged, the first 3 spins deal 12% of noted power, while the final spin deals 20%. If charged, the first 4 spins deal 18%, while the final spin deals 28%.

Calibur Streak

Description
Sword Photon Art. Unleash a powerful slash. Can attack up to 3 times by pressing the PA button after the slash. Charging the attacks will increase the number of hits for each of them.

• Perform an initial slash that can chain with 2 more slashes that do not consume PP. Can be charged, and after 1.8 seconds, will automatically slash to leave lingering slashes that hit the enemy multiple times, increasing total damage. Each slash can be individually uncharged or charged.
  • 1 hit per slash uncharged, 10 hits per slash charged.
  • As it automatically releases from a charged state, Calibur Streak does not utilize Auto-Avenger or Overcharge skills if they are unlocked.
• If you are not locked-on, you can adjust the direction you are attacking in before each slash.
• Does not provide super armor, unlike other Sword PAs. Can be canceled with Guard during charge, but not during slashes.
• If performed on the ground, your character will take a small step forward for each slash. This is not done if performed in the air.
  • You will stay in the air while this PA is performed, and for 3 seconds after the final slash.
• Same Arts Skip Attack - Hunter, if unlocked, is triggered if Calibur Streak is preceded by another PA and is also on the 2nd or 3rd slash of Calibur Streak.
• Power Notation: If uncharged, each slash deals 6.6%, 7%, and 10% of noted power, respectively. If charged, each slash deals 10 hits for 3.2%, 3.25%, and 3.55%, respectively.

Relentless Cleave

Description
Sword Photon Art. Cut enemies in half with a powerful strike. Charging increases the attack range.

• Perform a single cleave downward. Can be charged for 0.7 seconds to increase damage and provide slightly more range to the PA. Uncharged performs a quick cleave, while charged performs a slow and lengthier cleave.
  • You can slightly move to the left or right before the cleave.
• Provides super armor. Can be canceled with Guard until you cleave.
  • When charged, the cleave will auto-Guard from all directions.
• If used in the air, you will slowly move downward.
  • You will stay in the air for 2 seconds after using the PA.
• Power Notation: If uncharged, deal 33% of noted power. If charged, deal 100%.
