ALTERS is the common name for enemies with strange, eyeball-like symbols on their heads.

They change form depending on Day and Night Transitions, and deal +30% more damage at night. However, Alts Secreta Augment Capsules drop more frequently from Night Shifted ALTERS.

You can deal greater damage to them by aiming at the yellow core in their abdomen.

In the Global version of Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis, the singular form of ALTERS is "ALTERS unit."

They are also capable of launching blade-like energy projectiles. Diving Attacks can force a swimming Mumidog to immediately submerge, temporarily disabling it.

Attacks with its enormous claws—using them for swipes and slams. Bubble Snappers can also launch bubbles and water beams from its claws. Uniquely, Lightning Elemental Downs can only be inflicted on Bubble Snapper through targetting its foaming claws with Lightning attacks. In addition, activating an Elemental Down on a Bubble Snapper's claw disperes its foam—preventing the ALTERS unit from launching bubbles with that claw.

Attacks through a variety of means, including pillars of flames, ice projectiles that inflict Freeze, and swings from its abdomen. They can also provide surrounding enemies with Shifta via a substance from the protrusion on their back. Finally, Chiacurio can grab ARKS Defenders with tentacles from their heads in a manuever that can not be avoided with parries or guarding. However, it is possible to free oneself from the grab with repeated movement inputs. Breaking the tip of a Chiacurio's abdomen reveals its core, while breaking its back protrusion prevents it from buffing other enemies. The flames produced by a Chiacurio do not inflict Burn, and a Chiacurio's damage is boosted during Rain.
Eldi Scythe	• Central Aelio • West Aelio • Resol Forest • Vanford Laboratory Ruins	Alts Soul Alts Secreta	• Left Arm • Right Arm • Core (weakpoint)	Weak to:	ALTERS minibosses that resemble mantises. Primarily attacks with its scythe-like arms, but can also release lightining—either in the form of energy spheres or a gas-like emission from its body. Eldi Scythes are boosted during Clear Skies, and can apply Shifta and Deband to nearby enemies, as well as themselves. However, attacks from a broken Eldi Scythe's arm deal significantly less damage.

Utilizes wind instead of lightning—potentially inflicting Blind. Additionally, Svadi Scythe have the ability to fire a continous beam of wind while enraged.
Svaulon	• South Retem • Retem Alnothe	Alts Soul Alts Secreta Relik Expeditios (Lv. 30+)	• Core (weakpoint)	Weak to:	Retem variants of Waulon. Instead of launching itself with its spinning kick, it will launch tornadoes.
