Gunner is a returning class in Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis.
Class Weapon Overview
Twin Machine Guns (TMGs)
Extremely versatile ranged weapons that serves as the primary weapon of Gunners. They deal relatively small amounts of damage. However, they make up for it with the number of hits that they can deal in a given amount of time. While TMGs are considered as a Ranged weapon, their hit range is of Medium to Point-Blank range.
Using the Stylish Roll Weapon Action allows you to reposition yourself in midair, evade attacks, and shoot at the same time. Unlike PSO2, you can now roll forward without the use of a skill ring, and the slow motion third roll is now gone.
Twin Machine Guns Mechanics
- Chain Trigger: A Passive Skill only usable on TMGs when "Chain Trigger" is unlocked on the Gunner skill tree. By hitting an enemy with a charged Photon Art, a Chain can be started. This places a Chain number on your character, which increases as you hit enemies with normal attacks and uncharged Photon Arts. By using a charged Photon Art, you start a Chain Finish, where the Chain number affects the damage of the Photon Art for a few seconds. The bigger the number, the bigger the damage increase.
- Stylish Roll Arts: After unlocking the "Stylish Roll Arts" skill on the Gunner skill tree, pressing a Photon Art button during a Stylish Roll will consume PP to perform a more powerful attack during the Stylish Roll.
- Stylish Onslaught: After unlocking the "Stylish Onslaught" skill on the Gunner skill tree, a tackle can be performed when tapping the Weapon Action button without a direction held, damaging enemies and blocking attacks.
- Step Counterattack: After successfully dodging through an attack with a Step, a unique counterattack can be performed by pressing the normal attack button right after the Step, similar to Hero TMG counters.
