Hunter is a returning class in Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis.
Class Weapon Overview
Sword
A large broadsword used for heavy melee strikes. What it lacks in speed, it makes up for in raw damage. The Sword is a jack-of-all-trades weapon, possessing utility in almost any situation and being capable in a variety of areas, however, its attack range is lacking. Using the Guard Weapon Action, you can block attacks and negate their damage when Guarding right before the attack hits you.
Sword Mechanics
- Sword Attack Extra: After unlocking the "Sword Attack Extra" skill on the Hunter skill tree, the Sword gains a 5th normal attack that can be used in your attack combo. This 5th normal attack is just as powerful as a Photon Art.
- Sword Guard Counter: Pressing the normal attack button after a successful Just Guard with a Sword will allow for a counterattack, and if "Sword Guard Counter Plus" is unlocked, jump to the 5th normal attack.
- Step Counterattack: After successfully dodging through an attack with a Step, a unique counterattack can be performed by pressing the normal attack button right after the Step, similar to Hero Sword counters.
