The Extreme Gear originates from Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity, where it is called Blue Star, originally created by Robotnik Corp. and then modified by Tails for Sonic to use.
The name Extreme Gear comes from the equipment used to race in the Sonic Riders series of games, where they come in several forms like boards, bikes, skates, air rides, yachts and wheels.
