===Double Saber=== | ===Double Saber=== | ||
− | + | Étoile's Double Saber is a master of mobile arts, with a variety of short ranged and long ranged attacks at its disposal. With this, it can keep up with even the most flighty targets and unleash large amounts of damage with ease. | |
Double Saber's Weapon Action is '''Deflect'''. Press the Weapon Action button to put up your guard. If an enemy strikes you while Deflect is active, you can follow up with a '''Deflect Combo''' by pressing the Weapon Action button again. | Double Saber's Weapon Action is '''Deflect'''. − | + | Étoile's Soaring Blades are a slower, primarily short-ranged weapon ideal for taking on targets in close range. What it lacks in range and speed, it makes up for in sheer power and burst, able to inflict massive amounts of damage with its unique set of abilities. | |
− | Soaring Blades' Weapon Action is '''Parry'''. Press the Weapon Action button to shield yourself with blades, nullifying any attack. Press the Weapon Action button to shield yourself with blades, nullifying any attack. Parry can be used in the middle of attacks as well without interrupting them. Pressing the Weapon Action button during a Sidestep instead activates '''Sidestep Edge''', where the user hurls a blade at the target. If Étoile Dual Blades Focus is at least half full, pressing the Weapon Action button again during Sidestep Edge initiates '''Connect''', where the user assaults the enemy with a powerful combo. If the Focus Gauge is completely full, Connect can be followed up by the almighty '''Full Connect''' by pressing Weapon Action during Connect, combining the Soaring Blades into a massive sword to render foes apart. |
===Wand=== | ===Wand=== | ||
− | + | Étoile's Wand is a jack-of-all-trades, boasting an extremely versatile kit unlike any other weapon. Its Photon Arts can adapt to a wide range of combat situations, and no damage output is sacrificed in the process. With access to Focus PAs, Wand has the ability to output immense damage on targets at the cost of range. | |

Press the Weapon Action button to summon a barrier that blocks attacks. If the Étoile Wand Focus Gauge has Focus, the Weapon Action can be held to maintain the barrier, draining Focus in the process. Holding Protect will eventually power up Protect; releasing the Weapon Action button will initiate a '''Protect Release'''. Protect Release's effect varies based on the amount of Focus consumed by holding Protect, starting from a weak projectile, then a powerful blast, then unleashing a massive burst of energy that repeatedly damages nearby foes before finishing them off with a final blast. |

Wielding three types of weapons, the Étoile (Et) is a unique Scion Class distinguished by its melee-oriented focus, with access to three types of melee weapons with a wide range of capabilities. Its outstanding bulk and survivability makes Étoile a fantastic front-line fighter, and with its unique party support options, an Étoile is a must-have in any party.
Unlike other classes, Étoile does not provide base stat bonuses when reaching Lv.75.
Properties of Étoile
As a Scion Class, the Étoile Class has several properties not shared by Normal Classes.
Unlocking Étoile
To unlock the Étoile class, the player must complete a Client Order from Cofy. To complete this Client Order, the player must earn a Title which requires reaching Level 75 in any two non-Scion Classes.
Other Properties
- Étoile Photon Arts do not require a Photon Art Disc to learn, and do not need to be leveled.
- The Étoile cannot use Innate Photon Arts or Techniques that are pre-installed into certain Double Sabers, Soaring Blades, or Wands. However, Innate Photon Arts and Techniques installed onto other types of weapons may still be used.
- The Étoile cannot select a Subclass. However, the Étoile Class may be selected as a Subclass.
- Even if Étoile is set as a Subclass, you cannot use its PAs.
- Certain Potentials, Skill Rings, and buffs have altered or nullified effects on Phantom.
Class Weapon Overview
The Étoile uses the Double Saber, Soaring Blades, and Wand weapons.
Double Saber
Étoile's Double Saber is a master of mobile arts, with a variety of short ranged and long ranged attacks at its disposal. With this, it can keep up with even the most flighty targets and unleash large amounts of damage with ease.
Double Saber's Weapon Action is Deflect. Press the Weapon Action button to put up your guard. If an enemy strikes you while Deflect is active, you can follow up with a Deflect Combo by pressing the Weapon Action button again.
Soaring Blades
Étoile's Soaring Blades are a slower, primarily short-ranged weapon ideal for taking on targets in close range. What it lacks in range and speed, it makes up for in sheer power and burst, able to inflict massive amounts of damage with its unique set of abilities.
Soaring Blades' Weapon Action is Parry. Press the Weapon Action button to shield yourself with blades, nullifying any attack. Parry can be used in the middle of attacks as well without interrupting them. Pressing the Weapon Action button during a Sidestep instead activates Sidestep Edge, where the user hurls a blade at the target. If Étoile Dual Blades Focus is at least half full, pressing the Weapon Action button again during Sidestep Edge initiates Connect, where the user assaults the enemy with a powerful combo. If the Focus Gauge is completely full, Connect can be followed up by the almighty Full Connect by pressing Weapon Action during Connect, combining the Soaring Blades into a massive sword to render foes apart.
Wand
Étoile's Wand is a jack-of-all-trades, boasting an extremely versatile kit unlike any other weapon. Its Photon Arts can adapt to a wide range of combat situations, and no damage output is sacrificed in the process. With access to Focus PAs, Wand has the ability to output immense damage on targets at the cost of range.
Wand's Weapon Action is Charge Protect. Press the Weapon Action button to summon a barrier that blocks attacks. If the Étoile Wand Focus Gauge has Focus, the Weapon Action can be held to maintain the barrier, draining Focus in the process. Holding Protect will eventually power up Protect; releasing the Weapon Action button will initiate a Protect Release. Protect Release's effect varies based on the amount of Focus consumed by holding Protect, starting from a weak projectile, then a powerful blast, then unleashing a massive burst of energy that repeatedly damages nearby foes before finishing them off with a final blast.
During Photon Arts, pressing the Weapon Action button when a white circle appears will activate Focused PA, performing an alternative version of that PA with shorter range and enhanced damage output.
Gunblade
These are universal weapons for all classes, which can switch between melee attacks that scale off of MEL Pwr and ranged attacks that scale off of RNG Pwr.

Étoile Double Saber Focus | - | - |
Étoile Double Saber Focus
- Focus accumulates when hitting enemies. Up to 3 Gauges of Focus can be stocked.
The amount of accumulation differs for each attack, and if it is a Sidestep Guard, it will increase by about 1.5x. - Focus is consumed one by one when using enhanced attacks and when taking damage.
- Each Gauge of Focus has the effect of increasing Active PP Recovery by 10%.
Enhanced Attack
- Pressing and holding the Normal Attack button allows you to make an enhanced attack with guard frames and a stun effect at 1300% potency. Has a range of about 1 sidestep.
- Needs to be held from the beginning of the Normal Attack until the enhanced attack comes out.
- If one or more Focus Gauges are not accumulated, it will attack in the same animation as the enhanced attack, but will have the same potency as a Normal Attack without stun effects.
Double Saber Skip Arts
Main Class Only. While a Double Saber is equipped, skip the first half of a PA by activating it without any directional input.

Icon | Skill Name | Prerequisite | Skill Level | |
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | ||||
Double Saber Sidestep Slide | Étoile Double Saber Focus Lv1 | - |
- Inputting Sidestep twice in a row will change the movement motion into a Slide at a fixed speed almost the same as running normally.
- Continuously holding down a direction will allow you to move indefinitely in the Slide.
- Movement speed increases during lock-on.
- An enhanced attack or a Normal Attack during a Sidestep Slide will result in an enhanced attack.
- Both do not change from the second hit, and the Normal Attack happens in the first.
- Even if the Normal Attack portion has the same Sidestep attack and animation, it happens a little late, Focus accumulation increases greatly, potency increases to 1600%, and its PP recovers by (20 + Focus Offset).
- Even if PAs are used during the Sidestep Slide, no change happens.
- Double Saber Skip Arts can be applied during the Slide.
- When activated in the air, altitude will slowly descend after about 1 second.
- During the Slide, the Perfect Attack window will continuously stay up.
- Since the weapon is drawn out during the Slide, Natural PP Recovery is halted if the weapon has any effects relating to that.

- This skill is a dedicated system for special skills and has no other effect.
Connect / Full Connect
- During the Sidestep Edge (Weapon Action during Sidestep), the Weapon Action consumes 50% of the Focus Gauge to activate Connect, and during the Connect, pressing the Weapon Action again will consume another 50% of the Focus Gauge to activate Full Connect.
- The first-stage Connect is a Soaring Blade combo with invulnerability.
- The second-stage Full Connect combines both Soaring Blades into a giant sword, slashing down upon enemies. Has invulnerability.
- Both Connect and Full Connect can be put on standby by pressing and holding down the Weapon Action when activating.

- The effect of this skill is applicable only for the Augments given to the weapon.
- Only refers to the stats with higher value of MEL Pwr and TEC Pwr given to the weapon.
- After reference (If the Augments of the weapon is 10 MEL and 20 TEC, +20 is added as the attack power to the MEL Pwr of the weapon).
- Only refers to the stats with higher value of MEL Pwr and TEC Pwr given to the weapon.
- Note that unlike Switch Strike, the reference destination of the attack power of the weapon itself does not change, it is applicable only for the Augments given to the weapon.
- At first glance, Étoile's Wand attack scales off of Melee Power even if it is a Technique based Wand, so in principle it is not effective even if TEC Pwr is increased from Units or Food items.
- Effective for using TEC Pwr based Wands from Techter.

- Does not apply for Techniques.
- Since Perfect Attack is not required for the conditions of this skill, the effects will be maintained even without Perfect Attacks.
- The rate of PP Consumption decrease from combos is applied in an additive manner.
(For example, having this skill at Lv3 will decrease PP Consumption by 0.92 per combo, but instead of 0.92 x 0.92 = 0.846, it becomes 1.00 - (0.08 + 0.08) = 0.84) - The effect will be maintained even when using Normal Attacks in the middle of a combo.
- Using a different PA will reset the PP Reduction effect at that point. The different PA will not have its PP Consumption reduced.
- Even if the PP consumption of PA goes below 1 PP, it cannot be reduced to 0 PP due to the system mechanic when the PP Consumption becomes 0 or less in the calculation, the value becomes 1.
- For PAs that additionally consume PP when held, only the PP Consumption at the start of the activation is reduced.

Effect Duration | 1 Time | 2 Times | 3 Times |
- Similar to Fighter's Skill Combo Var. P.Attack PP Save, but does not apply for Techniques.
- The effect is maintained even when Normal Attacks are made inbetween PAs.
- About Effect Duration
- When comboing from PA 1 to PA 2, the Effect Duration is consumed by 1 in the PA 2 portion.
- For an Effect Duration of 1 (Levels 1 to 4), you should always continue to use PAs alternately.
- If the Effect Duration is 3 (level 10), the effect will be applied to the same PA 3 times.
PA 1 (Unaffected) -> PA 2 (Affected) -> PA 2 (Affected) -> PA 2 (Affected) -> PA 2 (Unaffected)
- The Effect Duration is reset and consumes 1 when using different PAs.
- When the Effect Duration is 3 (level 10), if you use a PA in the order of "(1)PA1 -> (2)PA2 -> (3)PA1 -> (4)PA1 -> (5)PA1 -> (6)PAs other than PA1", the remaining number of Effect Duration is (1)0 -> (2)2 -> (3)2 -> (4)1 -> (5)0 -> (6)2.
At the time of (1), the effect is not applied and it is not counted.
The effect occurs at the time of (2). Even if you use the same PA twice more, the effect will be obtained.
In (3), the effect is active and the PA is different from (2), so the count is reset and the duration count is 2.
Since (4) is the same PA as (3), the effect is active, but the count is reduced and there is 1 left in the duration.
Since (5) is the same as (4), the effect is active, but the count is reduced to 0.
In (6), a different PA is used from (5), so the effect is active and the count is reset back to a remaining duration of 2 times.
- When the Effect Duration is 3 (level 10), if you use a PA in the order of "(1)PA1 -> (2)PA2 -> (3)PA1 -> (4)PA1 -> (5)PA1 -> (6)PAs other than PA1", the remaining number of Effect Duration is (1)0 -> (2)2 -> (3)2 -> (4)1 -> (5)0 -> (6)2.
- When comboing from PA 1 to PA 2, the Effect Duration is consumed by 1 in the PA 2 portion.
