Mesetan Shooter is a shooting gallery game where you and up to three friends defeat endless waves of Mesetans to earn Casino Coins.
Game Flow
To play Mesetan Shooter, interact with one of the booths in the Casino Lobby and select your play mode. There are two play modes:
- Bronze Mode costs 100 CC. It is the cheaper option, with less potential gain. Bronze Mode lasts for 3 Waves.
- Silver Mode costs 200 CC. While Silver Mode costs more, all the CC earned will be doubled. Silver Mode lasts for 3 Waves.
During each Wave, Mesetans will appear on the stage. Fire at the Mesetans with your Attack/PA/Lock-On button while aiming with the mouse/right analog stick and move with the directional keys/left analog stick. When enough damage is dealt to a Mesetan, it will be defeated and drop an orb. Dropped orbs will roll down a pegged board in front of you; move your Catcher towards the Coin, and if the Coin falls into your Catcher, the value of the Coin will be added to your total.
At the end of three waves, you will be asked to pay CC to continue playing. Paying allows you to continue onto the next wave, while refusing will exit Mesetan Shooter.
Wave Types
There are four basic types of waves: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Mystery. Each one has spawns its own types of enemies.
- Bronze Wave: Primarily spawns Bronze Mesetan. Denoted by a basic brown stage.
- Silver Wave: Primarily spawns Silver Mesetan. Denoted by a silver stage.
- Gold Wave: Primarily spawns Silver and Gold Mesetan. Denoted by a golden stage.
- Mystery Wave: Certain spawns may appear more often than usual. Denoted by a purple stage.
PSE Burst Chance
At the right side of the screen under the Wave tracker is the PSE Gauge. Defeating enemies in rapid succession will cause the PSE Gauge to increase, denoted by a plume of light from a defeated enemy. When the PSE Gauge is full, PSE Burst Chance is triggered. While PSE Burst Chance is active, the next three Waves will becomes Gold Waves, and each Wave has a rare chance to spawn a boss stage.
Enemies
There are multiple enemy types in Mesetan Shooter, with their own properties and loot.
Basic Mesetan
- Bronze Mesetan: The weakest Mesetan type. Drops three Bronze Coins when defeated.
- Silver Mesetan: Slightly more durable than the Bronze Mesetan. Drops two Silver Coins when defeated.
- Gold Mesetan: The most durable Mesetan. Drops a Gold Coin when defeated. May also rarely drop a Rainbow Coin.
Special Enemies
- King Mesetan: A giant Mesetan that takes up the majority of the stage. Moves slowly and has high health, but if defeated, will drop a lot of Coins of assorted variety.
- Nyau: Runs across the bottom of the stage while jumping to avoid shots. If shot, Nyau will disappear and drop a power-up.
- Mr. Umbra: Floats around the stage for some time before disappearing. If shot, Mr. Umblla will become angry and drop several Bombs. If non shot for a sufficient amount of time, it will disappear while leaving behind some assorted Coins and power-ups.
- Mr. Bwomf: Has a very rare chance of appearing near the rightmost or leftmost sides of the stage during the beginning of a Wave. If his lamp is shot, Mr. Bwomf will appear and drop a Double Orb before disappearing.
Pickups
Basic Pickups
- Bronze Coin: Grants 1 CC. Doubles to 2 CC in Silver Mode.
- Silver Coin: Grants 3 CC. Doubles to 6 CC in Silver Mode.
- Gold Coin: Grants 5 CC. Doubles to 10 CC in Silver Mode.
- Rainbow Coin: Grants 10 CC. Doubles to 20 CC in Silver Mode. Unlike other pickups, any player who picks up a Rainbow Coin will automatically add its value to all players in the current game.
- Bomb: Randomly dropped by enemies or Mr. Umbra if upset. Subtracts 5 CC from your total. Doubles to 10 CC in Silver Mode.
- Red Bomb: Randomly dropped by enemies or Mr. Umbra if upset. Subtracts 10 CC from your total. Doubles to 20 CC in Silver Mode.
Power Ups
Power Ups are special abilities that come in the form of colorful orbs. Each Power Up has a different special effect that bolsters your capabilities. Power Ups last 30 seconds of in-game time, and persist between Waves.
- Power UP: Transforms your cannonballs into bombs. Slows down the rate of fire, but bombs generate a wide explosion upon contact and deal double damage.
- Speed UP: Your Catcher's movement speed is upgraded. You can even move at full speed while firing shots.
- Big Catcher: Your Catcher doubles in width.
- Double Orb: A black and rainbow orb dropped by Mr. Bwomf. If collected, your Catcher becomes supercharged and doubles the value of all Coins and Bombs you collect until the next Wave.
Queen Mesetan
During a PSE Burst Chance, there is a rare chance that instead of a normal Wave, you will encounter Queen Mesetan, an utterly massive Mesetan who takes up the entire stage. Queen Mesetan must be shot repeatedly to deplete her health while Bombs and Power Ups spawn on the field. If Queen Mesetan is defeated, she will drop a unique orb that doubles your Catcher size and triggers PSE Burst if collected. The color of the orb determines the type of PSE Burst activated.
- PSE Burst: Standard PSE Burst. Primarily drops Bronze and Silver Coins.
- NEO PSE Burst: A stronger PSE Burst that primarily drops Silver and Gold Coins.
- SUPER PSE Burst: The most potent type of PSE Burst. Primarily drops Gold and Rainbow Coins. The Casino's announcer, Deal, will also produce a special announcement compared to other types of PSE Bursts.
